It was one of the few producers of athletic shoes and for over a half century the company dominated the American athletic shoe market. ĭuring World War II, Converse shifted its manufacturing to make footwear for the military. Founded in 1908, it has been a subsidiary of Nike, Inc. Just not as sticky in wet as the Razor TRL.Converse / ˈ k ɒ n v ər s/ is an American shoe company that designs, distributes, and licenses sneakers, skating shoes, lifestyle brand footwear, apparel, and accessories. Way better outsole than the regular Razor. But good on dry trails and in all weather on the roads. On wet trails, they get perilous quickly. Wish the outsole was a little more rugged. Less bouncy than the Razor, but the legs feel great afterward. I will get max road 5.Ĭomments : Great shoes for me. The only advantage of GR9 is its durability. At the price range, NB rebel 2, Hoka Mach 4, and the on-sale Saucony endorphin speed 1 are better choices. The cushion seems to be dead, not soft as previous versions, missing the sensation factor. GR7 was great and GR8 was good, but GR9 is just OK. The black colorway looks really sharp in person and is actually easier to match to clothing.Ĭomments : In short, it was a disappointment probably because of my high expectations. I was hoping for a blue colorway to match the theme I have going with my Skechers shoes, but I ordered the black as I did not want to wait. I do enjoy running in the Ride 9 and will keep using it to see if more miles help to soften up that M-strike area a bit. The Razor Excess has the best rocker implementation for my stride and is still my go-to daily trainer (and favorite Skechers shoe). The Max Road 5 has the steepest rocker in the lineup and is plusher underfoot than the Ride 9, but it is not as soft and flexible. With the Ride 9, it is less pronounced in the forefoot but the heel bevel is longer. Skechers keeps fiddling with its rocker geometry and every model is a bit different. I also experimented with heel striking and it does not feel as bad that way, but this is not my normal running form. As I run faster and get up on my toes, I do not feel it so much. ![]() ![]() For myself, it creates a weird underfoot feeling where everything is super soft except for the hard area pressing into my arches. Those with high arches who want arch support may appreciate the support in this area. For a midfoot striker like myself with a low arch, this rigid area digs into my feet right at the arch area. The one odd thing is the more rigid foam under the M-strike area (gray rubber on the black colorway). It's not as bouncy as the Razor+ and it is a little heavier, but I do not really feel the weight difference and I can still pick up the pace. Forefoot strikers may prefer this as a daily trainer, even over the Razor+. It is not as plush feeling as the Ride 8, or Max Road 5, but it overall is softer and more flexible - especially in the forefoot. Fit is improved and snugger than the previous version, but is still very comfortable for my slightly wider feet. The GOrun Ride 9, in my opinion, is the softest most flexible shoe in the current line up. August 13th, 2021Ĭomments : I discovered Skechers last year and really enjoy the entire line. My feet do slide forward a bit so my toes hit the front on steep downs.įrom: Russ. ![]() Still breaking them in but no problem with blisters. Not sure about the price point, maybe a bit high. Excited to put 3-400 miles on these!Ĭomments : Solid everyday trainers. And wider in the toe box than the Razor 3s, which were always just a tiny bit too narrow for me. Probably closer to the Kinvaras in terms of a pretty firm ride, not as cush as the Hokas. The Ride 9 is obviously a little heavier, trainer-oriented shoe, but I like them ever bit as much as my trainers I mention above. I have loved every Skechers shoe I've ever worn. Love them! (I also bought some Asics Novablast, which have been getting good reviews, but I'm sending those back because they're too narrow in the forefoot and make the ball of my foot fall asleep). ![]() I didn't love the colors in the new versions of those, so I thought I'd give these a try. Guess October 20th, 2021Ĭomments: My typical shoes for daily mileage the past five years or so have been Hoka Rincon and Mach, Saucony Kinvara, and New Balance Beacon. Older runner 6'3 180 10-20 miles/week.įrom: Maui Runner. Hoping Skechers doesn't screw up the GRR10s, whenever they come out, by changing something basic that doesn't need to be changed. It's a shame that people see Skechers and think soft walking shoes. 3-400 miles per pair plenty of toe box room, great cushioning, very light. Comments: Fourth or fifth pair of GRRs.They work for me.
